A new blogger!

Hello to all of our faithful followers!

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Patrick Gillette, and I am an Admissions Counselor in the Office of Admissions here at Elmira College.  I will be contributing here on the blog from time to time to bring you the latest news and inside scoop about what is happening here at EC.  If you want to know more about me click here to see my bio.

So it's that time of year again, along with the changing leaves and the delicious return of pumpkin lattes at Dunkin' Donuts the fall also brings with it extensive travel for the staff in the Office of Admissions.  We will be on the road from now until November; you will find us out on the road visiting high schools and working at college fairs, and talking a lot about Elmira College.  Hopefully a counselor will be visiting your school or a college fair in your area; but just because the counselors are out on the road, that doesn't mean that the office is closed.  We are open 6 days a week for individual visits; so schedule your visit to campus now or if you have already visited our "picture postcard perfect campus" leave a comment here and tell others about your experience.


Be sure to check back often and find out what is going on here on campus, and if you have any suggestions or recommendations about things you would like to hear about let me know!!!  I want to cover things that are interesting to you!

Have you visited EC yet?

Whether you are almost finished with your college search as a senior, or are just beginning as a junior, there are still plenty of opportunities to visit Elmira College. By visiting our campus, you will be able to see firsthand all that EC can offer you. (Plus, don't you want to see our purple rock salt?)

During your tour, a Gold Key member (one of our selected student tour guides) will take you on a thorough walk-through of campus. You will be able to see a freshman dorm, classrooms, the library, the gymnasium, the dining hall, and much more. After your tour, you and your family will have the opportunity to sit down with an Admissions Counselor for an interview. You also have the option of meeting with an athletic coach or a faculty member to discuss your interests.

To schedule a visit to campus, all you have to do is call us at (607) 735-1724 or toll-free at 1-800-935-6472. The Office of Admissions is open Monday through Saturday with tours available at convenient times.

We also have a Winter Visit Day on Monday, February 15, 2010. Winter Visit Days are a chance for you and your family to stop by the Office of Admissions and interact one-on-one with administrators, faculty, coaches, and other staff members.
